Jam Factory - Sittin in the Trap(1970 us jazzrock jazz fusion)

Obscure horn rock band from new york. This is a tough one to review this band plays a mix of blues, soul, rock and pyschadelia with a very good horn section. The vocals are good here as well nice and soulfull and deep there are a few singers here. My only complaint about this album is the lyrical content most of the lyrics here are about getting along, getting together, loving each other respect your brother bla bla i wasnt around at the time of the war and whatever else was going on in the late 60's and early 70's so i cant identify anyway the album is growing on me the more i listen to it. The Eleventh House - The Eleventh House - Level One ( excellent 75 jazz fusion)

What's the matter with this album by The Eleventh House? Since its not released on CD like the other two

Because there's nothing wrong with it. Infact I will say its probably their best, well it is in my and many others opinion.
It has the best selection of tunes, the tightest sound and highest energy. Its simply The Eleventh House at its peak in 1975 with their second of three very good fusion albums.

This is one of the best albums of its kind, and I can't believe its left behind.
Everywhere its "Introducing", which is a great album no doubt. But believe it or not, "Level One" are even better

Friends - Friends (1973 usa jazz fusion)

Holy smokes, this is a smoking raw fusion album! A total beast! Absolutely essential listening alongside Eleventh House, early Mahavishnu, Electromagnets, Spectrum, Bundles, etc. Abercrombie goes fuzz wild before he went ECM. Tons of SICK bass lines on here. I think I might be raising the rating in the future. I can't believe I never heard this before! It was only a few months ago I heard Love Cry Want for the first time too. Thanks to Margaret for turning me onto this lost classic!
The band name might be "Friends", but I've got it filed under the performer names:

Ballin' Jack - Buzzard Luck (1972 brass rock-jazz-fusion)

Really good jazzy rock stuff. The stand out tracks for me are "Contry Pine" and "Stay Awhile".
I love these bands that have both black and white players, lots of members, facial hair, horn sections, a flute and somewhere maybe some bongos. This combination can normally only lead to excellent soulful jazzy rock..

Flying Island - Flying Island (1975 usa- jazz-prog fusion)

This all instrumental progressive jazz/rock fusion LP is worth investigating by all fans of prog. It features It features some fine use of elec. violin, flute, clarinet, elec. piano, and some wailin' wah-wah guitar on a mix of light and heavy mat'l. They're relatively obscure, and deserve better recognition. Grades - 2 B+'s, 5 B's, 2 b-'s, and a C+. I have heard reports they were from Colorado.

PSI - Horizonte (1977 ger jazz fusion)

Released right in the middle of the Kraut fusion boom of the late 1970s. Psi definitely evokes Kraan, Munju, RMO, Missus Beastly, etc... Apparently Psi impressed someone high up, as their sole album was on the high profile Bacillus label, besting many of the private presses of the era. For me, there are a couple of things that separate Psi from the pack. One is the fantastic rhythm section, propelling the tracks forward at an exciting rate. The other is the terrific production. Clearly a big budget was behind the recording. Recommended to fusion fans who enjoy a high amount of melodic content.
